With more than 20 years of experience as an environmental toxicologist, Debra understands not just the importance but the intricacies of environmental cleanup. She also has a clear sense of how the state can remain competitive economically while ensuring a healthy environment for its citizens.
Debra was an integral member of the team that cleaned up the industrial waste sites on the Wilmington Riverfront. She supports the state’s Green Industries Program, which provides incentives for businesses to use recycled materials and reduce the amount and/or toxicity of waste generated during manufacturing. She is also a proponent of alternative sources of energy such as offshore wind, which can help Delawareans reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.
As a state representative, Debra would use her office to assist groups such as Delaware Greenways, which works to protect and enhance our natural resources through projects like the Northern Delaware Greenway.
